2014ー旧正月

南カリフォルニアにて。

早朝、近所で軽く体を動かしながら、

探策。

公園に着くと、

もうすでに大勢の人がいて、

にぎわっている。

公園は広く、

多々の場所に太極拳など、

中国舞踊など、グループで体操するひとも。

公園の周回路には人が歩いたり、

走ったりしている。

一人だったり、

何人かで最近の出来事をかたりながら、

さまざまだ。

途中にはクビをクイックイッと

両側にまわして体操をしている中南米のおじいさんも。

他の連中はつば、タン、普通に吐いている。

何と、ジョギングしている一昔前のパーマをかけた、

おばさんが勢いよく手鼻もかんでいる。

通りかけた黒ダウンに身を包んだおじいさん達は、

予想をしていなかった、

コロンの臭いがプンプン

オジさんたち、この歳で朝でもがんばってるねーと

微笑んで、走ってちょっと失礼とおいこす。

朝だからといい、

ゆっくりするかと思いきや、

意外と活気にあふれている。

歩く人は多い。

しかも、なぜか腕をまわして、

ふっている人が多い。

これは多分、

中国人のみのもんたか

何かが健康に良いと言っているのかなーと

ふっと思う。

皆、後ろ姿は真剣。

真剣に健康になろうとしている。

そこには皆、よく働いて、

色んな夢を抱えて、

必死にもがいているようにも見えた。

後ろを振り返ず、

ただただ、前に行進。

early morning stroll to nearby park

in what was the early days of 2014.

the shadows are surprisingly

vivid at this hour .

the green parrots looking on.

its as though someone crept up behind me

to stuff citrus blossoms in my nose.

the park is bustling.

forget that its really the first day of the year

everyone is out.

some walk or run around,

alone or in little groups.

discussing the news as of late-

groups doing martial arts,

tai chi.

latest azr jordan gear,

old woman sporting red cortezs,

old men in puff coats wreaking

of dedication and cologne.

everyone is looking to get

healthy with an almost desperate yet comforting rigor.

follow with feigned interest.

(is this what being 1.5 means?)

a row of walkers,

spinning their arms around in unison

-freestyle.

fiercely afloat.

with dreams and hopes in a foreign land.

久々にバークレーの街をぶらりとしていたらこんなものを発見。日本にもこういうのできればいいなー。
